The “coffee nirvana” shop
was busy dispensing freshly roasted and ground plunger, filter and espresso
coffee all sealed in bags with one
way valves to ensure freshness to the last brew.
A taste sensation also launched on the day was the Tawny Port marinated coffee
beans, a delicate 2 week process of marinating, drying and roasting to produce
a rich port flavoured blend for the after dinner short black connoisseur. The
tawny port was dispatched from one of SA leading wine makers – Wayne
Dutschke and this unique strategic alliance is sure to create some amazing
port blended coffees for the future, a must to look out for !!!
Thanks for a superb contribution must go to the ATE “the art of food” Deli of Bangalow who provided beautiful platters of cheese and antipasto for the afternoon. Seana and Shannon are doing some amazing food products generally only available from the best stocked city deli outlets. Thanks also to the Byron Bay Cookie Co. for supplying an endless feast of their famous cookie range, the perfect complement to the non stop brews being produced from the “bean & gone coffee cart”.
The fascination billing on the day was definitely taken out by Matt O’Brien who has an amazing private collection of coffee antiques and memorabilia. The collection which was on public showing for the first time and created a lot of interest throughout the afternoon.
As this article goes to print the plantation is at the beginning of 3 long
months of harvesting the ripe coffee cherry, a delicious plum coloured cherry
and the home of two perfectly formed coffee beans. The new Korvan harvester
imported for the job arrived 2 months ago from the U.S. and only last week
the Brazilian Processing Factory was completed and ready to receive 50 tonnes
of coffee bean.
The “coffee nirvana” brand has already gained fantastic quality
recognition from National Food & Lifestyle magazines and is now available
from many outlets on the northern rivers.
